I’m a Tulsa and Kansas City photographer.

I’m a Tulsa and Kansas City photographer. Being an empty-nester, I’m available for spontaneous appointments and I love working weekends, too. Don’t hesitate to contact me for last minute sessions because you never know—I might be available so it’s worth a try!

After careers in Education and Psychometry, I evolved into creative outlets. Before I became an empty-nester, I created a travel blog and discovered a passion for travel photography. As a travel writer/photographer, I shot many vistas, landscapes, and  architecture. However, when I started shooting portraits of people, I discovered that engaging with them even briefly became a powerful dynamic. It spilled over into shooting photography locally at home here in Tulsa and Kansas City (my second home). My wanderlust for exotic locales has become balanced with falling back in love with Tulsa where I shoot many portraits of families and individuals. Tulsa is full of unique nooks, murals, architecture, landscapes, parks, rooftops, etc.

Side photo: I loved Kodak boxes and fedoras. Fedoras never went out of style!

Shooting senior portraits is especially meaningful for me. When I shoot senior portraits, I ask seniors questions that bring those senior gazes, smiles, ponderings,  laughter and reflection. I tell even the most reluctant senior (usually boys) what these portraits are really about (who they are now) and who they are really for (the parents). When parents see their senior’s photo gallery for the first time and react, that is my favorite part of the experience.

Collaboration is key in creating a concept or vision for your shoot. If you don’t have ideas, leave it to me. If you do have ideas, great! Let’s collaborate. Tulsa is my “studio” and I have outdoor and indoor venues that I love. My goal is that each session is fresh. You are unique. Your photos should be, too. It’s all about what is inspired. Contrasts? Black and white? Vibrant colors? Themes? Let’s collaborate!
