Are you curious about your preschooler’s educational skills and abilities? Preschool age is the perfect time to have your child’s skills evaluated. Discovering their strengths and weaknesses now before they enter or matriculate through early childhood education is key. There are so many areas of skills that preschoolers need to develop and many parents aren’t aware of all of those areas.

For example, the following areas work independently and in tandem within your preschooler’s classroom curriculum:

  • large motor skills
  • fine motor skills
  • cognitive thinking skills
  • expressive language skills
  • social emotional skills
  • self-help skills skills
  • early childhood attention skills

A child can have strong ability/aptitude skills but average or weak skills in the areas listed above. How do you bridge that gap? You do it with preschool skills tutoring or supplementing on your own.

Ability/aptitude, also known as IQ is provided through:

  • Verbal Comprehension
  • Visual-Spatial
  • Full Scale IQ

Depending on age of children, it can also provide:

  • Working Memory
  • Processing Speed

Perhaps a parent doesn’t need a formal evaluation for strengthening and remediating skills for their child but knows their child needs some overall practice and exposure to preschool games, activities, and lessons. Finding the right games, educational toys, workbooks, etc. and field trips will get you started. A preschool skills tutor can provide these resources.
